From the Director

Dear Friends,

Merry Christmas and Happy 2019 ! We hope this finds you well and that it’s been a very good year for you.  We’d love to catch up with you, and share some of the happenings of this past year.

Our spring production focused on Lent. It was a new venture for us, a one woman show in conversation with organ.  A portrayal of four significant women who struggled with faith – an original production titled Whom Do You Seek?

During Cape Cod’s balmy summer, we performed Noel Coward’s popular comedy, Blithe Spirit, directed by a long-time friend, Joanna Weir Ouston from London.  Joanna stayed on and Lenard Petit and Jane Nichols joined her to instruct an excellent summer intensive acting retreat held in our new rehearsal building, Joppa.

For the Fall performances, the Company wrote and performed an original piece about saints, called Battered and Bright, Celebrating the Saints. In conjunction with Paraclete Press, a panel led with Sr. Danielle and Brad Lussier from the Company, and Jon Sweeney from Paraclete Press, along with ecumenical voices of several authors and priests, followed each performance, engaging the audience in lively discussion.

It’s been a terrific year and we’re also extremely grateful for our new rehearsal building – before the front doors were installed, we entered and began rehearsing!

Thank you for sharing this year with us and for your support and love of theatre, and joining us in the transforming power of the arts.  We look forward to a great year ahead and we’d love to see you if you can join us at any time.

Our best wishes for joy and peace in 2019,

Sr. Danielle And all at Elements Theatre Company
