Your visit to Elements Theatre Company on beautiful Rock Harbor in Orleans brings you to “the jewel of Lower Cape Cod.” With Nauset Beach on the Atlantic side and Skaket Beach on the bay side, Orleans offers our guests unlimited opportunities to explore the area’s unique landscape and leave the everyday hustle and bustle behind.

Driving Directions

Elements Theatre Company is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes from Boston by car. From Boston take 93 South to Exit 7 (Route 3 South) toward Cape Cod. Cross the Sagamore Bridge and continue onto Route 6 East. Take exit 12 onto Route 6A toward Orleans/Brewster and turn right onto Route 6A East. In Orleans turn left onto Main Street and continue onto Rock Harbor Road. Turn left onto Bay View Drive. The campus of the Church of the Transfiguration will be on your left. The theater is located on the church community’s grounds.

Other Transportation

Extensive ferry service runs between Boston, Provincetown, Hyannis, Falmouth, Southeastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. Train service runs from Boston to Hyannis from Memorial Day through Columbus Day. Local airlines fly throughout the Northeast including Boston, Hyannis, Provincetown and the Islands. Various bus lines run from Boston and New York City to Cape Cod. Once on the Cape, RTA buses provide local transportation to all major destinations, including Orleans. Buses are equipped with bicycle carriers for easy on-and-off.

Dining

On Cape Cod, dining usually means seafood, and in Orleans you’ll find a host of options ranging from family restaurants and clam shacks to elegant waterfront bistros and cafés. Not in the mood for seafood? No worries. You can also enjoy fine ethnic cuisine, pizza, sandwiches and pub fare. There are also fish markets, grocery stores, caterers and organic farmers ready and able to supply you with everything you need for a sumptuous in-home dinner party or a casual backyard barbecue.

Area Attractions

When you’ve had enough sun, sand and surf, take advantage of the wonderful cultural and historic attractions in the area. Local artists exhibit their latest works in galleries throughout Orleans. Area museums display everything from model railroads to undersea telegraph memorabilia. The Orleans Historical Society leads walking tours that include stops at a 16th century windmill and a Coast Guard rescue boat. Picturesque lighthouses offer seafaring lore and gorgeous photo ops. Can’t get enough of live performances? Turn your visit with Elements Theatre Company into an even fuller Arts experience. Hear the world renowned Gloriæ Dei Cantores, and take a tour of the Church of the Transfiguration at the Community of Jesus. Recreation

Once you arrive in Orleans, boating, fishing, sailing, beaching and surfing are just the beginning of the options available to you at the “elbow” of Cape Cod. Walk the dunes to see the sun rise over the National Seashore. Wade in the bay at dusk and see the sun disappear into the ocean at the horizon. Enjoy birding, photography, golf, or tennis—all within a few miles of the town center. Cyclists can explore the area’s hidden gems along the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Head East to the Atlantic to visit the National Seashore Museum in Eastham or West toward Nickerson State Park in Brewster. Pedal through woodlands, fresh-water ponds, wildlife preserves and salt marshes. Stop at any number of trail heads for a relaxing nature walk—or fuel up on ice cream or other local treats at one of many family—owned snack bars, delis, or gourmet markets along the way. Several bicycle shops in the area and along the trail offer rentals and repair services.
